Todd Rundgren To Receive Les Paul Award

Todd Rundgren will receive the Les Paul Award at the 29th annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards, which takes place in Anaheim, California on January 24 during the 2013 NAMM Show. The award is given to individuals and companies who make outstanding progress in professional audio technology.

The event's press releases states that the honor "is presented annually to honor individuals or institutions that have set the highest standards of excellence in the creative application of audio and music technology."

Les Paul's son, Russ, will be on hand to present the award to Rundgren. Past recipients of the honor, which was created in 1991, include Pete Townshend, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young and Peter Gabriel.

Rundgren's 24th studio album, State, came out this past April.
