David Bowie is the hottest selling artist of 2013 for independent record stores, according to the U.K.'s Official Record Store Chart, which compiles sales receipts from 100 participating shops around the country.
The Charts Company has hooked up with NME in order to begin publishing more detailed results of sales activity at the U.K.'s independent shops.
The latest news about the chart will be announced at OfficialCharts.com each Tuesday - with the full Top 40 featuring every week in the new-look NME, Music Week and online home OfficialCharts.com.
"The Official Record Store Chart shines a light on the amazing work done by independent records stores up and down the U.K., and celebrates the independent ethos that drives so much of the brilliant music being made in 2013," said NME's editor Mike Williams.
