Police in Portugal say they believe a man who was fired by the same resort where Madeleine McCann's family was staying kidnapped and murdered her, a report says.
Correio da Manha said on Wednesday the man, who had since been killed in a tractor accident, became the prime suspect through tracking of his cell phone, the British newspaper The Mirror reported.
Evidence shows he had been neat the McCanns' holiday apartment when Madeleine vanished back in 2007.
McCann disappeared on May 3, 2007, nine days short of her fourth birthday. The fired employee has not been named.
