Scotia Sea in South Atlantic region near Antarctica recorded a strong undersea earthquake of 7.8 magnitude. No Tsunami warning is reported. The US Geological Survey said the epicenter was at a depth of 10 kilometers and at the boundary between the Antarctic tectonic plate and the Scotia Sea plate.
Scientists noted that there were no vertical movements, however expects aftershocks for the next few weeks.
