Japan November Household Spending Rises 0.2%

Average household spending in Japan was up 0.2 percent on year in November, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said on Friday, coming in at 279,546 yen.

That was well shy of forecasts for an increase of 1.8 percent following the 0.9 percent gain in October.

Household spending was down 0.3 percent on month.

The average of monthly income per household stood at 436,293 yen, down 1.1 percent on year. The average of consumption expenditures per household was 300,994 yen, down 1.6 percent on year.
