Eurozone's consumer price inflation rose to 0.8 percent year-on-year in December compared to expectations for an increase of 0.9 percent. Producer price index dropped to 1.2 percent annually in November, compared to economists' expectations for a drop of 1.3 percent.
The euro held steady against its major rivals after the data. As of 5:03 am ET, the single currency was trading at 1.3628 against the dollar, 142.22 against the yen, 0.8310 against the pound and 1.2356 against the Swiss franc.
