Japan's economy watchers' assessment of current situation and expectations weakened in January, survey data from the Cabinet Office showed Monday.
The current index that reflects assessment of the current economic conditions fell more-than-expected to 54.7 in January from 55.7 in December. The score was forecast to drop to 55.5.
Likewise, the outlook index that reflects the assessment of future economic situation in Japan, fell to 49 from 54.7 in December. This was the second consecutive fall in outlook.
