Chinese Yuan Declines To New 2-month Low Against U.S. Dollar

The Chinese yuan lost ground against the U.S. dollar in Asian deals on Thursday.

The yuan hit 6.0847 against the greenback, a level unseen since December 13. The yuan face support around the 6.09 zone. The pair was worth 6.0765 at Wednesday's close.

The People's Bank of China set today's central parity rate for yuan at 6.1146 per dollar, compared to yesterday's reference rate of 6.1103. The central bank sets the reference rate every morning and allows the currency to move upto 1 percent from that level.
