AMC has announced that they have green lit a new wrestling themed reality show from the mind of Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan.
The series, which currently carries the working title Untitled Billy Corgan Wrestling Project, will be a reality show on Corgan's Resistance Pro Wrestling promotion out of Chicago.
Corgan and AMC have reportedly been talking for the past year. The synopsis in AMC's press release reads like this:
"Smashing Pumpkins lead singer Billy Corgan pulls back the curtains on the pro-wrestling world as he takes over creative direction for the independent wrestling company Resistance Pro."
Resistance Pro was launched by Corgan and brothers Jacques and Gabe Baron. Their first show, 'Black Friday,' debuted November 25, 2011 at the Excalibur nightclub in Chicago, Illinois.
