Lithuania's industrial production increased sharply in May from a year ago, figures from Statistics Lithuania showed Monday.
The industrial production index climbed 8.1 percent year-on-year in May. Manufacturing output grew by 9.1 percent and production in the mining and quarrying declined by 0.8 percent.
On a monthly basis, industrial production rose a seasonally adjusted 1.6 percent in May. Manufacturing expanded 1.3 percent, while, mining and quarrying dipped by 11.5 percent.
In the January to May period, industrial production dropped a working-day-adjusted 2.3 percent compared with the same period last year.
