Ford Motor China Ltd., a unit of Ford Motor Co.(F), reported that it sold 90,775 vehicles in July 2014, an increase of 25 percent from 72,834 vehicles sold in July 2013.
Ford said it remains on track to bring 15 new vehicles to China by the end of 2015 as part of its accelerated China growth plan.
Ford's passenger car joint venture Changan Ford (CAF) sold 64,130 vehicles in July, up 19 percent compared to 53,947 sold in July 2013.
Sales of Ford SUVs, the Ford Kuga and Ford EcoSport, were on the rise last month, contributing to healthy sales growth. Ford Kuga July sales rose 10 percent with 10,450 vehicles sold while Ford EcoSport July sales increased 22 percent with 7,302 vehicles sold.
The Ford Mondeo nameplate sold 10,154 vehicles in July, an 807 percent increase from July 2013.
Ford's commercial vehicle investment in China, Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), sold 22,031 vehicles in July, up 33 percent from July 2013.
Sales for the multi-purpose Ford Transit commercial vehicle reached 6,066 vehicles in July, an 11 percent increase from last year.
Ford said that, to keep up with local demand, it currently operates seven manufacturing plants in China, with three additional plants currently under construction.
