Greece industrial production plunged in August after expanding for four consecutive months, figures from the Hellenic Statistical Authority showed Friday.
Industrial output logged a double-digit monthly fall of 13.9 percent, reversing the 2.7 percent rise in July.
On a yearly basis, industrial production slid 5.7 percent versus 1.1 percent drop a month ago.
Mining and quarrying output dropped 6.5 percent and electricity production registered a sharp 18.1 percent decline. At the same time, manufacturing output was down 0.9 percent. Meanwhile, water supply production gained 1.4 percent.
