Who And Beatles Announce Exclusive Vinyl Releases For U.K. Indie Stores

The Beatles and the Who are among the artists who have vinyl releases scheduled for Universal's "12 Days of Christmas" promotion. The promo sees 12 artists dripping exclusive records at indie retailers in the U.K.

The Fab Four will release a seven-inch version of "Long Tall Sally," while the Who will release a "Be Lucky" seven-inch.

Others included in the promo are Metallica, Bon Jovi, Weezer, St. Vincent, Wings, Imagine Dragons, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Tim Hardin and Shirley Collins & Davy Graham.

More than 120 independent High Street music shops across the country are expected to participate in the promotion, according to Universal.

The distributor adds that vinyl sales have been especially strong in the U.K. where there up 56 percent over last year.
