Japan Nov. Leading Index Revised Up

A leading index for Japan, which measures future economic activity, declined less than initially estimated in November, final figures from the Cabinet Office showed Wednesday.

The leading index fell to 103.9 in November, which was upwardly revised from the preliminary estimate of 103.8. In October, the score was 104.5.

The November index marked the lowest since January 2013, when the reading was 102.8.

The coincident index that measures current economic activity dropped to 109.2 in November, revised from the flash estimate of 108.9. In October, the score was 109.9.

Meanwhile, the lagging index, which reflects past economic activity, improved to 120.6 in November from 118.7 in the prior month, marking the second successive month of increase.
