Malaysia Leading Index Recovers In November

Malaysia's leading index recovered in November, survey data from the Department of Statistics showed Friday.

The leading index increased by 0.2 percent month-on-month to 117.8 in November from 117.6 in October.

A 0.4 percent rise in the expected sales in manufacturing index and 0.2 percent increase in both Bursa Malaysia industrial index and real imports of semi conductors contributed positively to the index.

On an annual basis, the leading index climbed 1.4 percent in November versus a 0.7 percent rise in October.

The coincident index that measure the current economic activity improved 0.3 percent to 121.5 in November from 121.1 in October.

Year-on-year, the index advanced 1.7 percent in November, slower than October's 1.9 percent increase.
