Love & Mercy, a biopic about Beach Boys fronter Brian Wilson, is scheduled to screen at the upcoming SXSW Film Conference and Festival.
The picture, directed by Bill Pohlad, "presents an unconventional portrait of Brian Wilson, iconic leader of the Beach Boys," according to a presser. Billboard writes that the film explores Wilson's life from his youth as founder of the Beach Boys to his "dark years under the care of Eugene Landy."
The cast features John Cusack, Paul Dano, Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti. Other anticipated screenings include All Things Must Pass, a doc about the fallen music store chain Tower Records, and Montage of Heck, the Kurt Cobain documentary.
The SXSW Film Conference and Festival runs from March 13 to 21 in Austin, Texas.
