Eurozone annual inflation remained flat in April as initially estimated after falling for four straight months, final data published by Eurostat showed Tuesday.
Harmonized consumer prices fell 0.1 percent in March and 0.3 percent in February. The European Central Bank targets inflation below, but close to, 2 percent over the medium term.
Core inflation that excludes energy, food, alcohol and tobacco held steady at 0.6 percent. The rate came in line with the flash estimate published on April 30.
In the EU28, inflation was also at zero versus a 0.1 percent drop in March.
The lowest annual rate was reported in Greece, down 1.8 percent. Meanwhile, the highest rate of 1.4 percent was registered in Malta.
