Carrie Underwood says that her new album is coming together, and that longtime fans may be in for a surprise. She admits the LP will have a "different sound," according to The Boot.
"There's definitely a different sound that's coming together," she began. "I want everything to have its own space and look different, sound different, feel different."
"I feel things have a different sort of twang to them, kind of a rock twang," she adds. "So there should be some things that [fans] hopefully have liked about the music we've done, but also a little growth, a little bit of shift, so still things they've liked but new things to see, hear and feel."
Carrie has yet to announce a release date for the record. Her last album, Blown Away, landed three years ago.
Underwood's summer tour begins June 28 at Dover, Delaware's Big Barrel Country Music Festival.
