Eurozone construction output decreased in June after rising in the previous month, figures from Eurostat showed Wednesday.
Construction output fell a seasonally adjusted 1.9 percent month-over-month in June, in contrast to a 0.2 percent increase in May, which was revised down from the 0.3 percent hike reported earlier.
Production in the building sector declined 1.6 percent monthly in June, following a 0.1 percent slight rise in the preceding month. Output in the civil engineering sector also dipped by 2.7 percent.
On an annual basis. construction output slid 2.3 percent in June, reversing a 0.2 percent gain in the prior month, revised from a 0.3 percent climb.
In the EU28, construction output dropped 0.4 percent in June from a year ago and went down 1.1 percent from the previous month.
Among member states, the highest monthly decreases in production in construction were recorded in Germany, Poland, Sweden and France, while largest increases were observed in Romania, Bulgaria and the United Kingdom.
