Eurozone Industrial Production Growth At 5-Month High; Tops Forecast

Eurozone industrial production grew more-than-expected in July, marking its biggest gain in five months, provisional data from Eurostat showed Monday.

Production rose 0.6 percent month-on-month following a 0.3 percent slump in June, which was revised from 0.4 percent. Economists had expected 0.3 percent gain.

The latest growth was the first in three months and the biggest since February, when production rose 0.9 percent.

Year-on-year, industrial production grew 1.9 percent in July, after 1.5 percent increase in the previous month, revised from 1.2 percent. Economists were looking for 0.6 percent rise. The latest gain was the strongest since March.
