Acer Inc. (ACID.L) Thursday said its net income of NT$191 million or $5.76 million and earnings per share of NT$0.06 grew over the previous quarter.
Consolidated revenues increased 11.7 percent from the previous quarter to NT$67.24 billion or $2.03 billion.
Acer's gross margin fell 2.4 percent quarter-over-quarter to 8.1 percent due to promotional activities carried out to face strong competition, resulting in an operating loss of NT$704 million or $21.26 million.
Acer said it would continue to optimize operations to enhance efficiency, and to formulate effective product mix strategies for local markets and seasonal marketing promotions to boost product sales.
