The BRIT Awards has announced plans for a special tribute to the late David Bowie. The glam rock legend passed away earlier this week after an 18-month long battle with cancer. His posthumous release Blackstar is set to debut at number one on the Billboard charts later this month.
Max Lousada, chairman of the BRIT Awards, commented on the tribute.
"He has inspired generations of musicians and will continue to shape music for many years to come," said Lousada. "We wish to honor his extraordinary life and work at the forthcoming Brit Awards and pay a fitting tribute to one of our greatest icons."
The BRIT Awards are scheduled to take place on February 25.
