German Public Budget Logs Record Financial Surplus In 2015

Germany's core and extra budgets of the overall public budget logged the highest financial surplus ever in 2015, provisional data from Destatis showed Monday.

The core and extra budgets showed a surplus of EUR 29.5 billion.

The financial balance improved by EUR 21.4 billion compared with the previous year. In 2014, the overall public budget recorded a cash surplus of EUR 8.1 billion.

Public revenue rose by 4.8 percent in 2015 on the previous year. Public revenue totaled 1,304.0 billion and public expenditure was EUR 1,274.5 billion.
