Japan's Industrial Production Growth Exceeds Estimate

Japan's industrial production grew more than estimated in March, final data published by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed Tuesday.

Industrial production expanded 3.8 percent in March from February instead of 3.6 percent estimated initially.

Likewise, growth in shipment was revised to 1.8 percent from 1.4 percent and that for stock was raised to 2.9 percent from 2.8 percent.

Year-on-year, industrial production climbed 0.2 percent compared to a 0.1 percent rise previously reported.

The capacity utilization advanced 3.2 percent on a monthly basis, reversing a 5.4 percent drop in February.
