Members of the Smiths and the Cranberries have teamed up to form the new supergroup called D.A.R.K. The group features Smiths bassist Andy O'Rourke and is fronted by the Cranberries Dolores O'Riordan. The band's debut release Science Agrees is due out on September 9. New York based producer-songwriter Olé Koretsky is also involved and the band formed when Rourke and Koretsky met about five years back while performing in Washington, D.C. They eventually formed Jetlag, a production outlet and occasional alternative rock band.
After a chance meeting with O'Riordan, Rourke started sharing demos with the Cranberry, who in turn occasionally completely re-imagined the tracks. At the same time, Olé was already working on something called Science Agrees, and it all started to form together as D.A.R.K.
