Automatic Data Processing is set to release its U.S. private payrolls report for August at 8:15 am ET Wednesday. Economists expect payroll gains of 175,000 following an addition of 179,000 in July.
Ahead of the data, the greenback climbed against the other major currencies.
The greenback was worth 1.1132 against the euro, 103.30 against the yen, 0.9845 against the franc and 1.3126 against the pound as of 8:10 am ET.
