Weight Watchers International Inc (WTW) reported a profit for its third quarter that increased from last year.
The company said its bottom line climbed to $34.7 million, or $0.53 per share. This was higher than $21.8 million, or $0.38 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.45 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.7% to $280.8 million. This was up from $273.3 million last year.
