Singapore's domestic wholesale trade contracted in the three months ended September, figures from the Department of Statistics showed Friday.
Wholesale trade fell a seasonally adjusted 0.3 percent sequentially in the third quarter, reversing a 5.5 percent climb in the previous quarter. However, excluding petroleum, wholesale sales rose 1.1 percent.
After removing the price effect, overall domestic wholesale trade dropped 1.9 percent over the previous quarter.
On an annual basis, domestic wholesale trade plunged 13.8 percent in the September quarter, following a 20.2 percent slump in the June quarter.
Foreign wholesale trade advanced 3.6 percent over the quarter, while it declined 8.8 percent yearly in the third quarter.
