Dycom Industries Inc. Profit Advances 28% In Q1

Dycom Industries Inc. (DY) revealed earnings for its first quarter that gained ground from last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $53.75 million, or $1.67 per share. This was up from $42.03 million, or $1.24 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.65 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 21.2% to $799.22 million. This was up from $659.27 million last year.
