Japan's consumer confidence declined for the second straight month in November to the weakest level in six months, survey figures from Cabinet Office showed Monday.
The seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index fell to 40.9 in November from 42.3 in the previous month. In September, the reading was 43.0.
That latest score was the lowest since May, when it marked the same 40.9.
Among components, the gauge for overall livelihood dropped by 1.4 points to 40.1 in November from 41.4 in October. The index measuring income growth worsened to 40.4 from 41.0.
Similarly, sub-indices for employment and willingness to buy durable goods registered declines in November.
