The French economy is forecast to expand 0.4 percent in the fourth quarter, as previously estimated, the second estimate from the Bank of France showed Thursday.
The business confidence index in manufacturing rose more-than-expected to 101 in November from 99 in October, the latest monthly survey revealed. The expected reading was 100.
Industrial production increased again in November and order books improved on domestic and foreign demand. Business leaders expect more marked growth in industrial production in December.
The business sentiment indicator for services came in at 100, up from 98 in October. Business leaders expect activity to rise again in December, albeit at a more modest pace.
At the same time, the confidence indicator for construction improved to 100 from 99. Activity is expected to continue rising in December.
