Consumer confidence in Australia ebbed in December, the latest survey from Westpac Bank revealed on Wednesday as its index slid 3.9 percent to a score of 97.3.
That follows the 1.1 percent fall in November to 101.3.
Negative GDP data was cited as a primary factor, while soft commodity prices continued to weigh on trade numbers.
