Thailand's exports increased more than expected in November, figures from the commerce ministry showed Monday.

Exports increased 10.2 percent year-on-year, reversing a 4.2 percent drop in October. The annual growth was also faster than the expected 2 percent.

At the same time, growth in imports eased to 3 percent from 6.5 percent. Imports were expected to fall 0.75 percent.

Consequently, the trade surplus totaled $1.54 billion compared to the expected level of $447 million.

During January to November, exports shrank 0.05 percent and imports slid 5.1 percent, resulting in a surplus of $19.72 billion.
