South Korea Mar Money Supply Growth Accelerates

South Korea's money supply growth accelerated in March, after easing in the previous two months, preliminary figures from Bank of Korea showed Tuesday.

M2, a broad measure of money supply climbed 6.2 percent year-over-year in March, faster than the 5.9 percent rise in February.

On a monthly basis, M2 money supply increased 0.8 percent from February, when it rose by 0.3 percent.

The annual growth in liquidity moderated to 6.9 percent in March from 7.3 percent a month ago. Liquidity of financial institutions grew at a slightly weaker rate of 7.3 percent yearly in March, following a 7.4 percent hike in the preceding month.
