Singapore PPI Rises For Third Month

Singapore's producer prices increased for the third straight month in May, figures from the Department of Statistics showed Friday.

The manufactured product price index climbed 4.2 percent year-over-year in May, much faster than the 0.2 percent rise in the previous month.

The domestic supply price index rose 8.2 percent annually in May and it rose 4.0 percent from a month ago.

On a monthly basis, producer prices climbed 2.4 percent from April, when it decreased by 1.9 percent.

Data also revealed that import prices grew 6.6 percent yearly in May, well above the 1.7 percent gain in the preceding month.

Export prices increased 3.8 percent annually and by 2.6 percent monthly in May.
