Chinese bitcoin mining hardware maker Canaan Creative has unveiled a television set that is capable of mining bitcoins while watching the shows.
According to South China Morning Post or SCMP, Canaan is making "Avalonminer Inside," a 43" television set that would double as a bitcoin mining rig.
The appliance is powered by artificial intelligence and can take voice commands. It is capable of processing 2.8 trillion hashes per second, in comparison to Canaan's most powerful mining rig that can process 11 trillion hashes per second.
Avalon mining TV could also calculate the profitability of bitcoin mining in real time. With the mined crypto, users can also purchase entertainment content or physical gifts on Canaan's platform.
Canaan, which is known for mass-producing chips designed for bitcoin mining, also plans to launch a range of blockchain-related home appliances.
The company had indicated its desire to expand its product line while filing its $1 billion initial public offering with the Hong Kong stock exchange in May.
