Maxwell will sing the National Anthem during the opening night ceremony of the 2018's U.S. Open tennis tournament. His performance will follow Kelly Clarkson's headlining set at Arthur Ashe Stadium just outside NYC on Monday, August 27.

The U.S. Open starts on August 27 and runs through September 9. This year's ceremony will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the US Open and will include former US Open champions, USTA Chairman of the Board and President Katrina Adams and other special guests.

Maxwell will hit the road later this year for his 50 Intimate Nights Live Tour, which kicks off September 27 and features stops at New York's Beacon Theatre, LA's Microsoft Theater and Chicago's Chicago Theatre. He will also release a 20th anniversary reissue of his 1998 album Embrya.
