Slipknot have announced that they are teaming up with Slaughterhouse Haunted Attraction for a horror-themed event in the haunted house in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Slaughterhouse will run through October 5-28. An October 18-21 VIP weekend is also planned.

The event will include Slipknot memorabilia, meet-and-greet events, dozens of themed actors who will bring the band's "iconology, lore and culture" to life, and guided tours of the 10,000 square-foot horror-filled attraction accompanied by a Slipknot band member.

Slipknot co-founder and percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan spoke about the partnership at a news conference at the venue on Thursday. He said it has been a long time since Slipknot did anything in Des Moines, the band's home town, besides play shows.

"It's going to be a lot of fun. It's going to be scary. And it's going to be heavy metal," he told reporters.
