The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has revealed that country star Willie Nelson and rock legend Van Morrison recently hit the studio for an upcoming collaboration.

Morrison's team contacted the Church Recording Studio in Pennsylvania to book it for three days, but the studio producer, Dave Hidek could not believe his ears until the check came, he says.

A little while later, it was confirmed that Willie Nelson would be joining Morrison, at which point the studio could not help but rejoice: "Having either one walk through our doors would in itself be a treat, to put it lightly, but both of them together would certainly be a historic experience," said Hidek.

This marks the first collaboration between the pair. No information about the release date of the project has been revealed as yet.
