AmeriCredit Corp. (ACF) reported first quarter EPS of $0.19 after the bell Wednesday, compared to the loss of $0.05 posted last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.06. AmeriCredit Corp. climbed during the first 45 minutes of trade Wednesday and rose further for the majority of the afternoon. Shares closed up by $2.19 at $18.82 on the highest volume in 6 months. The stock rose above a 2 1/2 month range and set a new high for the year.
