Connecticut Announces Quarterly Divided, $25.8 Mln Capex - Update

Monday, Connecticut Water Service Inc. (CTWS) announced a quarterly cash dividend of $0.2275 per common share, payable on December 15, 2009 to shareholders on record as on December 1, 2009. This quarterly dividend remains unchanged from the previous quarter and represents an annualized dividend of $0.91.

Connecticut's board also approved $25.8 million for its 2010 capital spending plan. Eric Thornburg, CEO and president, Connecticut, said that $13 million of $25.8 million would be spent on pipeline replacements.

Connecticut also declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.20 per share on preferred A shares, payable on January 18, 2010, for shareholders on record as on January 4, 2010, and a quarterly cash dividend of $0.225 on Preferred 90 shares on February 1, 2010, for shareholders on record as on January 18, 2010.

CTWS is currently trading at $22.94, up $0.15 or 0.64% on the Nasdaq.
