Tuesday, Statistics Estonia announced that a total of 155,000 overnight stays were registered in accommodation establishments in September. Domestic overnight stays declined 23% on year, while foreign overnight stays fell 7%. The average cost of a guest night was EEK 464, which was 14% cheaper compared to a year ago.
In the January to September period, the number of overnight stays by tourists in accommodation establishments decreased 11% year-on-year to 1.7 million. During the period, the number of domestic overnight stays stood at 593,000, down 153,000 from the previous year, while the number of foreign overnight stays was at 1.1 million, down 62,000 from a year ago.
