Thursday, Huntington Bancshares Inc. (HBAN) said its third-quarter net loss was $166.2 million or $0.33 per share compared with a profit of $75.1 million or $0.17 per share in the prior year period. On average, 18 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report loss of $0.28 per share for the quarter.
Net interest income for the quarter declined to $362.81 million from $388.63 million in the previous year. Non-interest income for the quarter jumped to $256.05 million from $167.85 million in the comparable period.
