Thursday, VCA Antech Inc. (WOOF) reported third-quarter net income attributable to VCA Antech Inc. of $36.4 million, compared to $35.8 million a year ago. On a per share basis net income was $0.42 per share, flat with that reported in the same quarter last year.

Net revenue for the quarter was $338.5 million, up from $332.0 million in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to report revenue of $349.03 million for the quarter.
Looking ahead to the full year 2009, the company updated its earnings from $1.48 - $1.52 per share or adjusted diluted earnings from $1.52 - $1.56 per share. Analysts currently anticipate the company to earn $1.58 per share.
