City Holding Co. (CHCO) reported net income for the third quarter of $10.5 million or $0.66 per share, compared to compared to a net loss of $2.6 million or $0.16 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.64 per share for the third quarter.
Net interest income for the third quarter fell to $23.7 million from $26.3 million a year ago. Provision for loan losses declined to $1.7 million from $2.4 million last year.
Non-interest income for the quarter was $12.3 million, compared to loss of $12.8 million in the prior year quarter.
