(RTTNews) - Former
Smiths frontman
Morrissey was released from a U.K. hospital Sunday where he was treated after collapsing on stage during a concert at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon over the weekend.
On Saturday, the singer was in the middle of his opening song, "This Charming Man," when he appeared to experience breathing problems and fell to the stage. He was carried off by his technical crew.
"The stage went dark and he was taken off the stage and then his band then all left the stage," an eye witness told the
Sunday Telegraph. "There was a wait of about 25 minutes before one of the stage crew came on and said Morrissey had left the building, and that he was seriously ill."
However, the singer is now reportedly feeling much better, according to a spokeswoman for Swindon's Great Western Hospital.
"Morrissey became unwell, and he was admitted overnight as a precautionary measure," she said in a statement. "He's been seen by the medical team, much improved and now discharged home."
