Time Warner Cable Inc. (TWC) reported third quarter net income attributable to the company of $268 million or $0.76 per share, compared to $301 million or $0.92 per share last year.
The company stated that net income attributable to TWC decreased for the third quarter of 2009 compared to the third quarter of 2008 due primarily to higher interest expense related to the debt incurred to fund the Company's $10.9 billion special cash dividend paid in March 2009.
On average, 19 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.75 for the quarter. Analysts' estimate typically exclude special items.
Quarterly total revenues rose to $4.5 billion from $4.34 billion a year earlier. Total Subscription revenues for the quarter rose to $4.32 billion from $4.12 billion a year ago. Sixteen analysts estimated revenues of $4.47 billion for the quarter.
