Tuesday, Nova Measuring Instruments Ltd. (NVMI) announced that it has received new bookings totaling $2 million for several integrated metrology units, to support a first phase of large scale capacity expansion at a memory manufacturing site. These tools will support the introduction of memory chips at technology nodes of 40nm and below.
"As stated in our recent quarterly conference call, the last few quarters have been characterized by technology migration of existing capacity. We are now clearly entering the second phase of recovery where our customers are moving forward and increasing capacity to support the need for high end devices. These orders clearly signal an additional step up in business activity, and given recent customer announcements, we expect this trend to continue in the coming quarters", said Gabi Seligsohn, President & Chief Executive Officer at Nova.
