Dow Chemical Co. (DOW) announced Thursday morning that it signed an agreement to sell its Powder Coatings Business to Akzo Nobel N.V. The company also announced that it plans to form an innovative business alliance with Tata Consultancy Services, which will provide critical business services to Dow, its subsidiaries and joint ventures. Dow Chemical gapped open sharply higher Thursday, but was range-bound throughout the session. The stock finished up by $1.89 at $28.60 and broke out to a new high for the year.
