Toyota Motor Corp. (TM) will make changes to gas pedals in certain U.S. models under deal with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, The Nikkei reported.

The report said that Toyota is recalling more than 4 million vehicles in the U.S. to repair gas pedals.

The move follows a fatal accident in August that involved a Lexus vehicle there. This accident has been blamed on the accelerator getting stuck to the floor mat, the report stated.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is expected to announce the accord as soon as early next week, Nikkei added.
